Holiday Card
Branding, Interaction Design, Illustration
As an in-house self-promotion project at Leibowitz, our annual holiday card is an opportunity to showcase the full range of our creative capabilities and attract new clients. Since many of our clients come from financial services and higher education, we use this project to highlight skills and approaches that are not commonly requested in client work. Past projects have included a paper cut-out stop motion animation and a fictional rebrand of Frosty the Snowman.
This year, we created an interactive holiday card generator, demonstrating both our designers’ imaginative thinking and our developers’ ability to craft engaging digital experiences.

Challenge
We wanted to create a holiday card that not only stood out from typical seasonal messages but also communicated our creative process in a fun and engaging way. The challenge was to transform our five-step approach—Research, Strategy, Content & Design, Execution, and Evolution—into an interactive experience that illustrated how these phases seamlessly work together. We needed a format that was both playful and insightful, reinforcing the interconnected nature of creative problem-solving while inviting recipients to explore it firsthand.
Solution
Our solution was an interactive holiday card builder that turned our creative process into a playful, mix-and-match experience. We personified our core design stages as four distinct characters—The Researcher, The Dreamer, The Designer, and The Craftsman—each representing a key phase of our work. Visitors could mix and match these elements to create their own custom character, reinforcing the idea that different parts of our process always work together in harmony. Rendered in 3D, the card builder provided an immersive experience while the final design was optimized for easy sharing as a 2D greeting card. This project served as a festive greeting and promoted our expertise in storytelling, digital interaction, and seamless design execution. The card saw a 37% increase in engagement compared to previous newsletters, and led to direct client inquiries, sparking new conversations and opportunities.
